If you don’t like the film, you can hope for a completely new experience with the harder alternative version, as Snyder now explains.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Snyder said:
It’s not just a longer version. It’s almost a different film. The [blutigere Version] almost lives in a different universe than that [aktuelle Netflix-Fassung].

Slash Film revealed some time ago that there would be alternative versions of Rebel Moon 1 and its sequel Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scar Maker that aimed for a so-called R rating. The US age rating in this country is often expressed in a FSK from 16 years. As Snyder explains in the interview, he was in favor of the regular version voluntarily aimed at a lower age rating. At least the film will potentially be seen by a larger audience.
When will the harder version of the sci-fi hit Rebel Moon come to Netflix?
There is currently no release date for the alternative version of the first two Rebel Moon films. A publication during 2024 is conceivable. It is not known whether completely new scenes can be seen in the second version.
