Spider-Man fans have nothing to complain about at the moment. New Spider-Man series turns nasty Marvel villain into hero
The friendly Spider-Man from the neighborhood reflects on the comic roots of his main character: While the Marvel hero travels across entire multiverses in his cinematic adventures, here he concentrates on his neighborhood. As the trailer shows, Peter Parker (original voice: Hudson Thames) saves his neighborhood from, among other things Social media thugs. To the dismay of his school grades.
The trailer also suggests a twist, which may surprise some fans: Norman Osborn (Colman Dingo), also known as the Marvel villain Green Goblin from the comics and films, acts here as an Iron Man replacement: He is both a mentor and a weapon master for Peter. He equips the awkward young man with a costume that has never been seen in the cinema adventures before: a white Spidey outfit.
When is The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man coming to Disney+?
The Marvel series is released on January 29, 2025 on Disney+. Jeff Trammell (Craig of the Creek) serves as showrunner. Marvel hero Daredevil and villain Kingpin will also appear in the series, as revealed by the casting of Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, among others.
