In the footage captured on the security camera in the operating room, it was seen that the doctor punched the 82-year-old female patient in the face 3 times, and the nurse intervened when the patient moved after the doctor hit her.
DOCTOR WAS SUSPENDED
AIER Eye Hospital Group, the umbrella organization of the hospital, announced that the incident was not reported to the center at the time it occurred, but after the images emerged, the doctor was suspended and the hospital manager was dismissed.
THE REASON MAKES ME SAY GIVE UP
In the statement, it was stated that the doctor intervened with “brute force” on the patient, who moved his head and eyes many times while being operated under local anesthesia, on the grounds that he was speaking a different language.
THE WOMAN LOST AN EYE
Stating that the hospital management apologized after the surgery and paid compensation of 500 yuan (approximately 2 thousand 100 liras), the woman’s son told local media outlets that his mother was blind in her left eye, but the reason for this was unknown.
