Covid-19 has become the center of our lives. The changes experienced with the pandemic have led to many changes in health, psychological and social aspects. Every person who has had Covid-19 has experienced this process differently. While some of them survived the disease process very lightly, others faced quite severe consequences. Many people continue to have their symptoms even after they have recovered from Covid-19. The persistence of symptoms despite the recovery of COVID-19 is called Long Covid. During the long Covid process, there are various symptoms such as insomnia and nausea. These symptoms reduce the quality of life.

SLEEP DISORDER IS THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS

In a survey of nearly one million people with Long Covid, fatigue was the most common symptom for 56% of respondents. “Sleep disturbances are one of the most common symptoms in patients with Covid-19,” says sleep medicine specialist Dr Cinthya Orbea. “They report insomnia, fatigue, brain fog, and sometimes we even see circadian rhythm disturbances,” she added.

FAILURE AND MUSCLE PAIN ARE ALSO COMMON

A study published in the National Library of Medicine investigated the neurological, psychological and physiological symptoms of Long Covid syndrome. The research included an online questionnaire on sleep disorders and quality of life. In total, 507 people completed the online questionnaire and reported that the main symptoms associated with Uzun Covid were headache, fatigue, muscle aches/myalgia, joint pains, cognitive impairment, loss of concentration and loss of smell.
