It’s testing a new AI feature on YouTube that will allow users to get video summaries before watching them.
Along with Duet AI, which shows that users can increase their productivity in Google Workspace, Google is also exploring the possibilities of using artificial intelligence capabilities in its other consumer-friendly products.
Google is testing a new AI feature on YouTube
In line with this research, the Mountain View tech giant is now testing a new artificial intelligence feature on YouTube that will allow users to get video summaries before watching them.
Google’s artificial intelligence will automatically create a summary of the video you plan to watch; so you will have a fair idea of its content before you start watching the video. Additionally, we seem to hear you ask, “How will this feature differ from YouTube video descriptions?”
Summaries created with artificial intelligence provide users with clear and accurate information
While YouTube video descriptions should contain a compelling summary of the content, creators often misuse this feature to mislead their viewers. As announced on Google’s support page, the AI-generated summaries of YouTube videos will allow viewers to learn the content clearly and accurately.
However, YouTube creators can continue to write comments. Because the summaries generated by artificial intelligence are not intended to replace it. This will not affect your viewing experience on your phone or computer at all.
Currently working for limited number of videos
AI-generated summaries will appear on YouTube’s watch and search pages and are currently available in a limited number of videos that can be viewed by a limited number of users. Another limitation is language. This feature is currently only available in English. As this work becomes more mature, Google will likely expand usability as well.
It is stated that Google wants to receive feedback from users who are currently using this feature. The feature is currently available for free to limited users. However, it is not guaranteed that this will continue after the testing phase is complete. The company may offer this feature as part of a YouTube Premium subscription to encourage more users to subscribe.
