Last week, several plastic bags containing body parts were found in a landfill on the paradise island of Koh Phangan in Thailand. The body turned out to belong to a 44-year-old Colombian surgeon.
After the body was found, a famous Spanish YouTube chef who was also the son of two Spanish film stars came to the local police station to report the surgeon as missing.
Shortly thereafter, the 29-year-old actor’s son was arrested on suspicion of murder. Now he risks being sentenced to death, reports Sky News.
Seen together on a motorcycle
The motive behind the suspected murder is still unclear, but according to the local police, the two men appear to have had some type of relationship.
Surveillance footage from the day before the suspected murder shows the two men together on a motorcycle. Shortly afterwards, the YouTuber was seen buying a knife, garbage bags and cleaning products in a store.
The suspect admits to killing and dismembering Edwin Arrieta Artaega and then dumping the body parts in the landfill and in the ocean. But he denies that it was a premeditated murder.
