An 18-year-old Finnish javelin thrower threw a winning score of 79.72 in the final of the under-20 European Athletics Championships in Israel.

In the finals of the games, Lampinen threw a six-kilogram hook with his fourth throw, a winning score of 79.72. At the same time, it is the top result in the world for under-20s.
Lampinen, who represents Vantaa KU-58 in Finland, improved his own record by leaps and bounds. The record he set earlier in June this year with a 6-kilogram moukari was 76.93 meters.
Earlier in his career, Lampinen had the World Championship silver from last year’s games in Colombia.
The Finn won first place in the race before Cyprus Iosif Kesidisi (77,73) and Hungary Miklos Cesko (76,87).
The gold won by Lampinen was Finland’s second medal from the ongoing Games. Rasmus Vehmaa ran yesterday Tuesday for EC silver in the 110 meter hurdles.
