They got their own base, the Kajuit, in an old primary school. With a bar where beer was only served in bottles, because then young people were less likely to drink. And more was done to control alcohol consumption, says Co Doesburg: “On Friday evenings we always had an activity, because then the beer drinking starts a little later. I had come up with an activity: swearing and shouting with Mr. Doesburg. There were 2 rules of the game, there should be no pauses and no repetitions in the swearing match, because then you are out. That seriously shortened the game. I think the winner had no more than 12 seconds, even though they had said, I can hold on for a minute.”
