Minister of Social Affairs Jakob Forssmedwho are part of the Christian Democrats, have put forward a proposal to ban snus in schools.
In addition to tobacco- and nicotine-free school hours, Forssmed also proposed a ban on selling nitrous oxide for intoxicating purposes, a ban on smoking nicotine and tobacco products and a ban on snus with a nicotine content higher than 12 milligrams per gram.
There is a lot of snus that will disappear from the Swedish market if the latter proposal becomes law.
Some of the most popular snus brands may have several snus varieties withdrawn. Some examples are Lundgren’s Skåne strong, General extra strong portion and Velo ice cool mint strong slim.
Below is the list of which variants may be withdrawn if the proposal goes through.
