    A pizza with extra day cream, please! This is what you will soon be able to write down when you order through Uber Eats. On the same principle as meals, the delivery platform can now drop off your cosmetics in record time at the chosen location. An initiative proposed in the United States, which could quickly land in France.

    Will we soon be able to have everything and anything delivered in less than an hour? The health crisis, which has caused the closure of non-essential businesses, has pushed consumers to turn to online shopping, forcing brands and retailers to reinvent themselves to meet this new demand. In the beauty sector, this has notably resulted in the multiplication of virtual fittings, and faster delivery services than before.

    But brands seem to want to go even further by offering ever more innovative services, adapted to the new consumption patterns of their customers. After The Body Shop at the end of 2020, it is the turn of The Estée Lauder Companies to partner with the delivery platform Uber Eats to allow beauty addicts to receive their favorite cosmetics the same day. For the moment, these are only two of its brands, Jo Malone and Origins, whose products can be delivered via Uber Eats to around twenty cities in the United States.

    A project which, if it meets its audience, could be extended to more brands of the American company whose portfolio includes not only skincare, but also perfumes and make-up. Note that, during the pandemic, many brands and retailers set up – when this did not already exist – click & collect services to obtain their cosmetics in just a few hours. Even if stores are gradually reopening all over the world, these new delivery services could quickly win the favor of consumers, especially those who would ultimately promote teleworking.

    It remains to be seen whether other sectors, including fashion, could also follow this path and partner with one of the many existing delivery platforms, all over the world.
