Younger criminals increase the risk of innocent victims: “Relentless”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Several outsiders have been injured or shot dead in confrontations between gang criminals in recent years.

Last week, a 50-year-old man was shot dead in a villa in Tullinge. The man was the father of a gang criminal, a 25-year-old man who is suspected of involvement in a shooting against relatives of the “Kurdish Fox”.

Going to relatives

During the years 2020 to 2021, 18 outsiders suffered serious violence that was actually directed at someone else, preliminary figures from the police show.

– When you don’t get to those who are involved, you deliberately target relatives because you want to send a signal: if you don’t back down, we will be merciless, says Diamant Salihu, SVT’s crime reporter, in Current.

“Ready to take the next step”

In the recent wave of violence in Stockholm, the police are looking at several cases where people with no connection to crime may have been attacked.

– You have learned in these environments that when you cannot reach those you want to harm, you are prepared to take the next step to harm family members, relatives, neighbors, anyone who happens to be at the address where you are registered, he says .

Younger offenders increase the risk

As the perpetrators are getting younger and younger, the police believe that the risk of outsiders being affected is increasing.

– There is a large influx of young people who are prepared to resort to violence, who do not think about the consequences. The elderly take advantage of it, says Diamant Salihu.

He believes that few of them understand what they are getting into and are content with receiving status, money for debts and support in their own conflicts.
