What is snus
Snus (pronounced ‘snuus’) is a method of ingesting nicotine without smoking. There are both variants with and without tobacco. The powder is put in a kind of tea bag under the upper lip. It is especially popular in Sweden.
It was banned in the European Union in 1992 because it is carcinogenic. Especially in Sweden, snus remains popular. In recent years, it has also been on the rise among young people in the Netherlands.
