Armed police patrol in groups in Paris – over thousands of extra officers have been called in. Several voters tell TT that they fear violence in the wake of the polarized French election.

In Paris, police officers walk in groups of three or four with their weapons visible. People on the streets shout different variations of “voter”, a call to vote, according to TT’s broadcaster.

According to French newspapers, several shops in the inner city have installed wooden boards to protect their shop windows for fear of riots when the election results are announced on Sunday night.

— I hope that hate does not win. They will set fire to everything if the RN wins, says a man in his 60s outside a polling station in the capital’s ninth district.

The 75-year-old man who had gone missing in Hudiksvall has been found dead, the police write on their website.

The man disappeared from a nursing home on Saturday afternoon. A large search effort was launched with, among others, the Home Guard.

Police suspect no crime in connection with the death. Next of kin have been notified.

Panic and riots broke out during the Rath Yatra festival in the city of Puri in India.

400 people are reported to have been injured and one person is said to be dead.

A car is on fire in Norrtull tunnel, Norra länken in the direction of Södertälje. This is what the Swedish Transport Administration writes on its website.

According to Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Administration, the tunnel is closed and will be until approximately 17.10.

Several people were shot during a party in the city of Detroit in the United States, writes American media.

Two people are said to have died and eighteen have been injured, several of them seriously, writes a local news channel.

The police tell the channel that the shooter, a 22-year-old man, was himself shot in the leg and is being treated in hospital. He is not considered to be seriously injured.

The police confirm that several of the victims are undergoing surgery for their injuries.

Last Thursday, a 23-year-old man was shot dead with several shots in Strömmensberg writes. A teenage boy was arrested by the police a few hours later.

Now he has been requested to be detained after the shooting death writes The Gothenburg Post.

Russian forces have captured yet another village in Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, Russia’s Ministry of Defense says. This applies to the village of Chigari, which was “liberated” according to the Russian statement.

The day before, Russia announced that another village in the area had been captured.

This year, Russia has made a series of minor advances in the Donetsk region, starting in Avdijivka in February. However, neither Russia nor Ukraine has made any major breakthroughs and is considered to have been stuck in an attrition phase in the war.

Since 07:00 this morning, the police in the Bergslagen region have received over fifty alarms about fallen trees on roads around Värmland and Örebro County.

Several trees have fallen and laid across roadways.

The rescue service and the Swedish Transport Administration are working in several places to remove the trees as quickly as possible.

The police urge road users to be careful if they go out on the roads.

“Be aware that trees and other objects can fall/come flying. There is also poor visibility on some roads due to heavy rain,” the police write on their website.

Four passenger cars have been involved in a traffic accident on the E6 outside Helsingborg, at the height of Gantofta.

– We just arrived at the site and it is very quiet at the site. Everyone is out of the cars, says the officer on duty at the rescue service.

According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the road has been closed with a very large impact on traffic. There is currently no forecast for when it will reopen.

An SAS plane from Arlanda to Ängelholm collided with a bird in the air and had to make a U-turn.

“The plane returned to Arlanda for inspection,” says SAS press manager Irena Busic.

– It’s a bit windy so it was wobbly and it’s a small plane, says a traveler on board the plane.

The aircraft was not damaged and will make it to Ängelholm as soon as it refuels.

“The plane is estimated to be 1.5 hours late. 70 passengers are on board,” writes Irena Busic.

Now some passengers have chosen not to take the plane to Ängelholm, according to one traveler.

No injuries have been reported.

A teenager in Hol in Vålgårda municipality has been taken to hospital after a motocross accident, reports P4 Seven-way.

The accident must have happened in connection with a competition.

The boy’s injury status is unclear, but he should be awake and talkative.

There is a fire in an apartment in Karlskrona.

Police, emergency services and an ambulance have been called to the scene. It is still unclear how the fire started.

– We are on site and working to put out the fire right now. I have no information about any risk of spread at the moment, says the rescue service line operator.

Four people have been taken to hospital. It will be about a woman and three children. The extent of the damage is still unclear.

The case is currently classified as suspected arson.

Another workplace accident has occurred at the Northvolt battery factory in Skellefteå. Two people have had to be taken to hospital after being exposed to electrolytic steam.

“One person exhibited nausea, while the other person had milder symptoms,” writes Northvolt’s press manager Matti Kataja in an email.

Two men who got lost on Fälpfjället have been rescued by Fjällrädningen.

It was on Sunday morning that the two men contacted the police and stated that they had been lost on the mountain since Friday.

– When they call, they state that they haven’t found their car for two days and that they have now run out of water, says police spokesperson Maria Linné.

Just after half past two, the two men have been given a ride to their car. They should not have been in need of medical care.
