The alarm about the shooting came at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. A large number of police patrols were sent to the scene.
The police first announced that an injured man had been found and that they were working with life-saving measures. Later in the evening came the police with the announcement that the man’s life had not been saved.
The murder occurred in the Blombacka area near the Geneta district where several shootings have taken place recently.
— We have an ongoing conflict in Södertälje and the police work intensively to counteract this type of crime. There are many indications that this is related to the ongoing conflict, but I have not had it confirmed, says police spokesperson Mats Eriksson.
The crime scene was cordoned off for a technical investigation. The police have stopped and checked several people, but no one has been detained.
