A 25-year-old man is sentenced to three and a half years in prison for causing a fatal accident outside Sundsvall in August 2021, reports P4 Västernorrland.

A Norwegian woman in her 60s died in hospital two days after the accident.

Four young men were traveling in the car – all of whom say they have difficulty remembering who was driving. However, there is evidence that the 25-year-old was behind the wheel.

The man left the car on foot after the accident but could be traced with the help of a police dog. The result of a sample taken three hours later showed that he had 1.65 per thousand of alcohol in his blood.

The 25-year-old is convicted of gross drunken driving, gross negligence in traffic, causing the death of another and contagion from a traffic accident. In addition, he must pay damages totaling SEK 180,000.
