This year’s Gothenburg turn was held on Saturday. The weather was unusually hot and this led to 23 people being taken to hospital, most with heat-related injuries.
One of those who ended up at Iva in Sahlgrenska was a young man from Jönköping County. So now he has passed away.
SVT found out about the death through people close to the family. On Thursday afternoon, the Gothenburg Shipyard also confirms that one person has died.
– I can confirm but I can’t go into any details at the moment, says Eva-Lena Frick, head of the Gothenburg Athletics Association, which organizes the Gothenburg Race.
