One of the craziest films of the year is coming to the cinemas in May. Hereditary and Midsommar director Ari Aster’s Beau is Afraid promises a three-hour (!) nightmare odyssey in which Joaquin Phoenix’s main character makes his way to his mother’s funeral.
The upcoming film also stars a younger version of Phoenix, played by 16-year-old newcomer Armen Nahapetian. The young actor works more like a whimsical CGI image. He’s now fighting back.

In fact, on the poster and trailer for Beau Is Afraid, the actor looks like as if his face had been digitally altered. Armen Nahapetian is real and looks exactly like it. The young actor wants to prove it on TikTok, for example:
