After Bishop Gallo Shabo stepped down from the throne, it was time to find a new bishop within the Syrian Orthodox Church in Sweden. In February of this year, Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem Kerim II was in Sweden and began the search for a new bishop.
The new name was announced on Sunday. It will be Youhanon Lahdo who takes over as bishop. He has previously been a monk in one of the Syrian Orthodox churches in Norrköping.
