A man receives SEK 50,000 in compensation from his region after he was subjected to discrimination in connection with renewing his prescription for an ADHD medication. The demand was made by the Discrimination Ombudsman (DO), reports Dagens Juridik.
The man was asked to provide a monitored urine sample to check for the presence of narcotics when he would renew the prescription. After the man objected to this, the requirement was changed to a saliva test – which the man completed.
DO notes, however, that the procedure has not undergone any individual assessment. A general requirement constitutes discrimination, the authority states.
