Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of surprises and easter eggs. The developers have allowed themselves a little joke in the character creation. Your runes on your face can have a very different meaning than you might think. MeinMMO tells you what’s behind it.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, players keep coming across new discoveries, surprises and easter eggs. A great Easter egg I think is one of the folk hero inspirations you can get throughout the game. Larian Studios has hidden a small message for Final Fantasy 14 fans in it, but we don’t want to spoil it for you.
But even at the beginning of the character creation, players encounter hidden messages, which many do not notice. It is about a specific face tattoo that hides witty meanings.
Here are 3 tips to reduce your payload:
Larian Studios allows themselves little jokes with your tattoos
What’s the matter? Baldur’s Gate 3’s character editor gives you tons of options to customize your character to your liking.
In the character editor, players can also select body decorations, including tattoos. A tattoo is particularly eye-catching. The tattoo consists of a script called Barazhad. This font is based on the Demonic, Occult, and Necrotic languages from Dungeons & Dragons. D&D Primordial and Abyssal beings use these characters.
Larian Studios took the opportunity and immortalized ridiculous messages on your faces with this tattoo. The user “Thewingedbaron” discovered this funny Easter egg from the developers on TikTok.
You can see the TikTok video here:
What do the signs mean? The TikToker found out in his second playthrough that a certain tattoo in Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t have any sinister meanings, but rather casts the character in a ridiculous light. The characters along the nose mean… just “nose”.
But that’s not all. The forehead just says “forehead”. You may already think so, it goes on with the other parts of the body as well.
One string in particular catches the eye. The marks on the neck don’t just mean “neck” bluntly. No, this time you can read Larian Studios…no joke.
So your character constantly walks through Faerûn with a “Larian Studios shield”. In addition, with labels for each body part, so you don’t forget where your nose is at all. Some tieflings must think our character is completely “dumb.”
With the help of this Barazhad translation guide, you can find out for yourself what the runes on your face actually mean.
So it turns out that the infernal tattoos are actually totally ridiculous. I actually thought that the tattoos must have a totally dark or cool meaning. Maybe you felt the same way.
Instead, it might have some deeplings wondering what the hell we did to our face. There are probably some tieflings in bed at night pondering what “Larian Studios” is even supposed to be.
