You start with Gmail and you don’t know how to access your account? Nothing could be simpler! On a computer and on mobile, you only need your address and password.
Like all modern electronic messaging, Gmail is accessible in several ways, both on a computer and on phone or on tablet. All you need, apart from an internet connection is your Gmail address and associated password, essential to identify you with the Google service. Then just use a web browser or the mobile application to access your account to consult and manage your messages.
Whatever the operating system used on your computer (Windows, MacOS or Linux), you can connect to your Gmail account using a simple web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Safari, Brave, Vivaldi, etc.).
- With your usual web browser, go to the site Gmail.com.
- If you arrive first on the presentation site, click on the link Connection At the top right of the page to access the connection page.
- On the connection page, first enter your account identifier (email address or phone number if you saved it when creating your account), then click on Following.

- Then enter your password and click again on Following.

- You are then immediately connected to the Gmail interface and you can consult, write and manage messages.
When you no longer use Gmail, you can just close your tab in your web browser: you will not need to identify yourself again if you return to messaging during the same session, that is to say if you do not leave your browser. On the other hand, it can be useful, even essential, to really disconnect from your account – even if it means identifying you again, including during the same session -, especially if you use a computer that does not belong to you, in office, with friends or in a web bar, for example.
- In the Gmail interface, click on theavatar of your Google account, in the upper right corner of the window.
- In the context menu of account options, click the button Disconnection.

- You will be disconnected from Gmail, but your account will always appear. To disconnect it completely, click on Delete an account. Do not panic: this will not delete your Gmail account, but will erase it from the browser until your next connection.

- On the page Delete an accountclick on the account to be disconnected.

- In the superimpressing warning window, click on Yes, delete.

- After the click, you will be redirected to the connection screen to Gmail, indicating that you are completely disconnected from messaging.
You can fully manage your Gmail messaging with the eponymous mobile app, available for free on Android and iOS, with a phone or tablet. On Android, the Gmail application uses the Google account address associated with your device by default – the one that also serves you to access the Google Play Store. But you can perfectly use another Gmail address and manage several accounts. On iPhone or iPad, the situation is slightly different, the Gmail application is not native to the iOS system. However, you can of course download the application and use it to connect to one or more Gmail accounts, such as on Android.
