Trolls in World of Warcraft can be annoying. But you only get a new achievement if you want to troll someone but fail badly.
There is a lot to do in World of Warcraft. But apart from dungeons, PvP, role-playing or pet battles, there is an activity that is even more fun: trolling friends and fellow players. There are numerous skills and items that you can use to tease or infuriate your fellow players in WOW.
Probably the most popular of these “troll items” has now received an achievement. But that’s only available if you’re too stupid to use it properly.
Which item are we talking about? It’s about the “Swap Blaster”. This is an item that engineers can craft and that you can also simply buy from the auction house. The change blaster can also be used if you haven’t chosen any engineering skills yourself.
The change blaster has a short activation time and then swaps your position with that of another player from the group or raid. The exciting thing is that the targeted character maintains its momentum. So if he is about to run straight, he will continue to do so even after the teleport. For comparison, spells like Leap of Faith end your movement even if you still hold down the run button.
Most players use the change blaster as follows: They stand on a precipice and wait for their “victim” to move. They then fire the alternating blaster and swap positions with their victim. Since the target is still moving, it is teleported to the abyss and runs one step further – which usually leads directly to death.
We have more about the interchangeable blaster in this article.
What do you have to do to be successful? It’s about success “You wouldn’t have it any other way” (“You Had it Coming”). The job description of success says: “Get what you deserve.”
It’s not exactly clear, but the symbol on the change blaster tells you what to do: you have to die.
To get the achievement, you have to use the change blaster on a fellow player and then die yourself immediately afterwards. This sometimes happens quite “naturally” if you choose exactly the wrong moment to make a change, for example while the victim is jumping over an abyss. By swapping with the interchangeable blaster you then find yourself in the middle of the air. Since you have to stand still to use the swap blaster, you can’t move even when swapping – and then you just fall into the abyss.
Whether you want to have this success or not is of course up to you. Because maybe it’s the ultimate troll award if you don’t get this achievement for as long as possible.
