There are few who can measure up Ingemar Stenmarks greatness. Both in terms of his incredible sporting achievements as an alpine skier but also his enormous popularity with the Swedish people.

Stenmark’s career

He is undoubtedly one of Sweden’s foremost athletes of all time and one of the most popular. With two Olympic golds, five World Cup golds and an incredible 86 World Cup victories, “Stenis” has an obvious place in the Swedish history books forever.

Today he is 67 years old, but unlike many other pensioners of his age, Stenmark refuses to slow down. He has started a veteran investment in pole vaulting and recently he also opened an Instagram account.

Ingemar’s new trick

In just a couple of months, Ingemar Stenmark has already managed to attract over 75,000 followers and received a large amount of likes and comments thanks to his popular hit videos. The skiing icon has jumped up to a plinth, balanced on a ball with Bianca Salming and practiced pole vaulting technique with tree branches.

The new video has received over 14,000 likes and people can’t believe their eyes. When Stenmark takes out a napkin and offers a work of art with his bare hands.
“Wow, cheers to you!”, writes one user in the comment field.
“Knew it! Of course you can fold origami too!”, writes another.
“Yes, you Ingemar, when will you stop surprising us? Can you skate on one leg backwards? Wouldn’t be surprised. You are and will remain the best,” writes a third.
