You may experience serious problems 24 hour warning for sacrificed meat

Due to unconscious consumption during Eid al-Adha, citizens may eat excessively and unhealthy. As a result, serious health problems occur. Experts, who give critical warnings in order to have a healthy holiday, share remarkable details about the cooking and consumption of sacrificed meat.

“STAY AWAY FROM MEATS HIGH IN FAT”

Specialist Dietitian Arzu Vural, working at Ataşehir Municipality Türkan Saylan Medical Center, gave suggestions on healthy nutrition during Eid al-Adha.

Vural said, “Eating a balanced and moderate diet during the Eid is extremely important to protect our health. We should be especially careful about consuming sacrificial meat. Instead of choosing meat with high fat content, it would be better to choose lean and protein-rich pieces.”

“CONSUM THE MEAT AFTER RESTING FOR 24 HOURS”

Vural, who also gave information about the correct cooking of meat to be consumed during Eid al-Adha, stated that meat is a food that is difficult to digest and made remarkable warnings:

“In freshly slaughtered meat, there is a condition we call Rigor Mortis, that is, rigor mortis. Rigor mortis is when the muscles remain contracted when meat is cut and cannot relax due to lack of energy. This situation causes digestive problems such as bloating and indigestion in people. To avoid these digestive problems, let the meat rest for at least 24 hours after cutting it and then consume it. In this way, the meat will be softer and more delicious.”

“METHODS SUCH AS FRYING AND ROASTING HAVE CARCINOGENIC EFFECTS”

Vural, who recommends eating a lemon salad alongside meat for better digestion, also recommends taking plenty of walks during the holiday. Stating that boiling, oven or grilling methods should be preferred when cooking meat, Vural also suggests that methods such as frying and roasting, which are done by exposing it to high temperatures, should be avoided as it will have a carcinogenic effect due to its high trans fat content. Specialist Dietician Arzu Vural says that dishes made with meat should be cooked with its own fat, and underlines that additional fats such as tail fat and butter should not be added while cooking the meat.
