In a survey on MeinMMO, we wanted to know which anime you liked best from the former RTL2 television program. Almost one in three of you had a clear winner.
The anime program on RTL2 was the first port of call after school for an entire generation. Various anime series were shown on the TV channel at lunchtime. MeinMMO wanted to know which of the animes you liked to watch the most.
These are the results: 1,314 people took part in the survey. You were able to vote for the anime series you liked watching the most. Since there was so much to choose from, we gave you three votes.
Here we list which anime series made it to places 4-10:
Digimon just missed out on making it into the top 3 of the best anime series. Although Pokémon is the bigger franchise, the series managed to beat Pokémon by a few votes. On the other hand, Jeanne, the Kamikaze Thief, just missed making it into the top 10. There are also three animes that didn’t receive a single vote: Calimero, Hamtaro and Pretty Cure.
Even today, Digimon movies are still released regularly. Watch the trailer for Digimon Adventure 02 – The Beginning here:
In addition, you told us about preferences from other channels and other anime that were not included in the pre-selection:
We will introduce you to the first three places in more detail. One anime was able to prevail over the others by a clear margin – although, unlike the other two series, it does not have 1,000 episodes.
3rd place: Detective Conan
The Detective Conan anime started in 1996. It’s hard to believe, but the series is still running. There are now over 1,129 episodes in which Conan Edogawa solves different cases. He has the special feature that he is actually a high school student named Shinichi Kudo, who is trapped in the body of a child due to the side effects of a poison.
2nd place: One Piece
Your favorite pirate gang made it to number 2. The anime series set sail in 1999. Since then, over 1,112 episodes have been produced in which Luffy and the Straw Hat Gang experience the wildest adventures. According to mangaka Eiichiro Oda, an end is in sight – although he has already postponed his deadline for the end of the story several times.
1st place: Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball confidently takes the throne of your favorite RTL2 anime. Almost one in three of you liked to watch the Saiyan in the afternoon program. The original series from 1986 has since been followed by Dragon Ball Z (1989), Dragon Ball GT (1996) and Dragon Ball Super (2015).
Even with all the spin-offs, the anime only has 639 episodes, making it only half as long as the other two animes in the top 3. If you still want to skip some of the episodes, we could recommend our filler list: Dragon Ball: All episodes and fillers in the list – you can skip these episodes
