New York, London, Milan, Paris … All Fashion Weeks have agreed on an accessory that we all have in our wardrobe. Here’s how to wear it in 2025.
Rokh, Schiaparelli, Miu Miu, Victoria Beckham, Christopher Esber, or Issey Miyake (to name a few) all highlighted the same emblematic accessory in their fall-winter 2025 collection during the last fashion week. A real essential of the season, which we all have in our wardrobe! He is not revolutionary, but his way of carrying it is very different from what we are used to seeing.
The accessory in question is none other than the belt. This year, this accessory, which can be bent any outfit and which is no longer only worn around the pants, has been revisited many times; Sometimes in leather, chain, simple or logo, XXL or minimalist … but it is really during the last week of fashion that the houses have decided. It is no longer the form or color that is important, but the way to wear it.
In SchiaParelli, the sizes are always so marked that the body of women really represents a hourglass. We think in particular of the dresses that Kylie Jenner particularly likes to the first row of the parades of the Italian house, or that which Demi Moore wore during the 30th Critics ‘Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. But this time, the size is no longer only marked by the design of the dress or the corsets incorporated into the dresses. Daniel Roseberry opted for the belt (or rather belts). Indeed, the Schiaparelli silhouettes had hips covered with a multitude of belts. Exit minimalism and fine loop belts. The claw has opted for the contrary: XXL belts decorated with golden or silver metal loops, superimposed on each other. A daring maximalism that has attracted more than one.
At Rokh, the belts were placed below the hips, creating the illusion of an elongated torso. Victoria Beckham, she did the opposite. They came to emphasize the size, placed above the hips on knitting tops. Dsquared2 went even further by completely transforming this accessory, creating a top composed exclusively of belts.
But that’s not all: the belt even invites itself to the bag! It has become a real double accessory which is used not only to tighten the size, but also to carry its bag and to embellish it, as we have seen in the SchiaParelli parade, but also at Balmain, with its new Anthem bag.
Fashion houses prove that in 2025, the belt was no longer conventional. So dare to accumulate belts, whether matching or completely mismatched, and have fun superimposing them.
