Once the error is made, you were able to realize that it was impossible to go back and erase your message. A constraint that Google sought to delete.
Want to correct a spelling mistake? To qualify certain somewhat expeditious words? To completely delete your message? It is now possible to go back and avoid these traditional cold sweats that accompany us in the event of poor manipulation. No more shame and embarrassment, since even after sending, your message can now be modified and erased. A feature discovered by our colleagues from Android Authority.
Google, with its messages application, consolidates its place among its competitors like WhatsApp and Telegram. The app did not fail to draw inspiration from them by presenting the possibility of deleting messages after sending. A very useful feature for users, who can navigate the software without dreading the slightest bad manipulation.
To take advantage of this new Google feature, simply click on your message, press the basket icon and then select the “Delete for everyone” option. The new option can only work if the transmitter and its recipients have downloaded the latest version of the application. Only RCS messages, which require the Internet to be sent, will be canceled. Classic SMS and MMS are therefore not affected.
However, some constraints are to be taken into account. You can only erase the message within 15 minutes after sending. A relatively short time which requires some responsiveness from users.
This possibility of deleting your message on Google Messages is in the test phase in the beta version. The functionality will be deployed for all users very soon, without the slightest official date having been communicated.
