In Call of Duty: Warzone there is a chance to get back into the match after the player dies if you win a duel in the Gulag. However, not all players got there, so the developers had to intervene.
The Gulag is a type of mini-game that takes place on a compact map in Call of Duty: Warzone. There, 2 players who were eliminated in the Warzone fight against each other for a 2nd chance in the form of a respawn.
The situation will be familiar to all players who have ever been in a gulag: while waiting, stones fly around, players throw them at themselves, but do no damage. So far so good.
With the arrival of CODMAS in CoD: MW3, snowballs came into play – and so did the Gulag. So instead of stones you could throw snowballs. The streamer DrDisrespect shows in a clip that you can even die as a result, even before the actual duel.
You can see the new Warzone map “Urzikstan” in the trailer:

How did he die? In a nearly 30-second clip on X (formerly Twitter) from December 21st, DrDisrespect can be seen waiting for his duel in the Gulag of Call of Duty: Warzone. The countdown counts down from 10 seconds.
Meanwhile, he is chatting with his chat when his character receives damage out of nowhere – even before the actual duel. With each hit, he ducks into the camera, looks around, and appears visibly irritated.
After 3-4 hits, his character dies, shortly before the bell rings to start the duel. When the killcam appears, it becomes clear what happened: the enemy is throwing snowballs at him from the waiting area. DrDisrespect is speechless, that’s how the clip ends.
How did the developers intervene? After numerous accounts shared DrDisrespect’s clip on X, Raven Software also responded with a post. They shared the post from the account “CODUpdates,” which informed the community that the snowballs in the Gulag had been deactivated.
Raven Software shared the post and wrote:
Those of you who threw rock-filled snowballs at the Gulag candidates are now on the naughty list.
Santa Claus is watching. 🎅

Since the developers did not deny the statement in the information post from CODUpdates, it can be assumed that you can no longer have a deadly snowball fight in the Gulag.
The developers also intervened in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but it was about cheaters who cheated on using a powerful weapon in the multiplayer. Ultimately, the cheaters suffered more than their opponents:
