Recently, it now allows powers of attorney to be made 100% electronically, without going through the police station or the gendarmerie, via the website maprocuration.gouv.fravailable since spring 2021.
Online power of attorney: how to complete the procedures?
There are a few conditions to respect in order to be able to make your power of attorney through France Identity. First of all, your identity card must already be dematerialized in the application, which means that you must have one of the latest generation – the famous CNIe which, distributed since August 2021, integrates a chip and a QR code.
Then, you need to have your digital identity certified in order to subsequently access sensitive procedures in a completely dematerialized manner. To do this, you only have to go to the town hall once, and then you are completely at peace. You can initiate the certification request for your digital identity from your France Identity application. Confirm your email address, enter your personal code, then read the QR code on your ID card. The application then generates a QR code valid for one month, which you will present to the agent so that he can compare your fingerprints with those on your identity card. Within 48 hours after your visit to the town hall, you will be notified by email and in your application of the result of your certification request. Then go to the site maprocuration.gouv.fr, where you must identify yourself with FranceConnect. Complete the proxy form indicating the information of the trusted third party who will vote for you, then choose online verification with France Idété. Then scan the QR code displayed on the screen, enter your personal code and read your NFC card. Everything must be done within 20 minutes, otherwise you will have to have your identity verified by an authorized authority (police officer, gendarme, consular agent) to have your power of attorney validated.
