Spring warmth and sunshine will sneak in during the week.
In large parts of the country it can be up to 17–18 degrees warm.
– You have to take the opportunity to enjoy yourself, says Katarina Andersson, meteorologist at SMHI.
It’s time to dust off the old spring classics after winter ideas. The golden Tider plate Puls from −82, the old charcoal grill and last year’s SFP 30 sunscreen.
Because spring heat is on its way to southern Sweden in the coming week. Northern Sweden, on the other hand, seems to have to wait with the Sommartider hello-hey-al-song.
– We have high pressure that is strengthening over central Scandinavia. So it will be quite nice weather in most places, says Katarina Andersson, meteorologist at SMHI.
Rising heat
During Monday, the forecast lands at 10–15 plus degrees in southern Sweden. In Gällivare, for example, on the other hand, it lands at seven degrees at most.
– It will be a lot of sun and progressively warmer day by day during the week. The exceptions are in the far north. Clouds may occasionally pass there and maybe some rain or snowfall. Above all in the mountain range.
Then there is a crescendo. 15… 16… 17… and finally; 18 degrees, the spring sun offers the most during Friday, in several places in southern Sweden.
It gets the warmest here
– We have an easterly wind. So it will be a little warmer in the western parts of the country, in western Värmland and down towards the west coast.
So we’re talking about Värmland’s Arvika, will they have really good weather?
– Yes, it can be hot in Arvika on Friday, says Katarina Andersson.
– It will be a little cooler on Öland and Gottland. In the north there may be more clouds.
In the northern part of the country, there will be a northwesterly wind. So along the northern Norrland coast – the Piteå areas – the temperature will reach around 12 degrees with sunshine.
The southern heat is predicted to persist over Saturday as well.
– You can take the opportunity to enjoy this week. There is not much wind either, a little fan.
Fire risk and burn risk
If you are out and about in the 17 degree warm Friday sun in Ludvika or Norrköping, for example, there may even be a risk of burning yourself.
– The air is quite clear in the spring, not so many particles in the air. Most people may be a little winter pale, so it’s good to think about that so you’re not out all day, if you don’t have any sun protection.
Another finger of warning that SMHI puts up is the fire risk that comes with the heat.
– There is a risk of grass fire in principle in all of Götaland, large parts of Svealand and the southern Norrland coast. Of course, there is still snow here and there in Dalarna.
If there is a fire ban, you can check through the County Administrative Board where you live.
– You shouldn’t make a fire in the grass anyway, you have to stick to the grill, says Katarina Andersson.
