On March 9th, a new anime MMORPG celebrated its global release. Shortly thereafter, it has 30,000 players on Steam.

What kind of game is this? Summoners War: Chronicles is an MMORPG by South Korean development studio Com2uS, available on Steam and mobile devices via Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Summoners War: Chronicles was released in November 2022, but only celebrated the worldwide release of the MMORPG on March 9th.

The game is based on an anime style and takes place in the world of the popular mobile game Summoners War.

This is how Summoners War: Chronicles wants to be THE new mobile MMORPG for you

What makes the game stand out? In Summoners War: Chronicles, you choose one of three playable characters called Summoners, each with a unique role and skill set.

With your character you have the possibility in the game to summon different monsters and form a team with them. In total, there should be over 350 different monsters that accompany you on the battlefield and that you can give commands to.

The world of Summoners War: Chronicles itself consists of different continents that you can travel to. It also offers various dungeons and raids and PvP battles in the arena – just like Summoners War.

How successful was the worldwide release? The worldwide release was very successful for the MMORPG. While the game hit just under 2,000 on Steam in February, there was a player boom after the March 9 release (via steamcharts).

Player numbers rose sharply, peaking at 31,277 as of March 14, 2:00 p.m. According to Com2uS, Summoners War: Chronicles has even reached 110,000 simultaneous players across all platforms.

How is the game doing? The MMORPG has 2,500 ratings on Steam and is 74% positive. The reviews themselves are somewhat mixed. There are some players who report that they generally enjoy the game.

However, some players also criticize the gacha system behind the MMORPG. Even though Summoners War: Chronicles is a F2P title, there are plenty of ways to spend money, including Pay-to-Win and Pay-to-Progress.
