In CSI: NY, the team led by Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) and Stella Bonasera (Melina Kanakaredes) faces a new investigative challenge in every episode. By far the most entertaining—and from a gamer’s point of view, the dumbest—takes place in Season 4 Episode 5 held: The Venus Trap.
A young woman was murdered. When searching her apartment, the investigators find out that the victim spent several hours a day playing the (real) online game Second Life. With her avatar “Venus” she is one of the most popular users there.
The CSI team suspects that her killer is also hanging around there – and is now posing as Venus. So Mac Taylor creates an avatar himself and goes on a quest. And it’s staged so unbelievably wrong that it’s fun again.
CSI: NY is hunting a serial killer in the online game Second Life
There are several things that happen next that are silly enough on their own. First he has to bribe a white rabbit to collect clues. Through this he finds Venus’ online friend “Don Juan 2-3”. His real name is Johnny, he is chronically ill and turns out to be harmless in a real-life interrogation. In addition, there is growing evidence that the woman’s killer is a serial killer.

Back in the game, Mac must compete in a gladiatorial combat to gain access to a “secret city” where Venus was last seen. Once there, follow the silliest scene of the entire episode.
Internet Chase: This is what happens in the completely absurd CSI scene
When Mac meets the avatar Venus suddenly appears a blue fox with a bazooka on. He seems to know that someone else is posing as the deceased woman and “shoots” the avatar. He then escapes on a hoverboard. Mac gives chase with a jet pack, while techie Adam (AJ Buckley) seizes the moment to look up the user’s location.

There are several things about this scene that make absolutely no sense:
When Mac finally catches up with the fox, he’s frozen in the air. The user is no longer online, but Adam had enough time to find out his address. When the team storms the fox man’s apartment, it only finds the corpse of the user. It’s Johnny aka “Don Juan 2-3”. He wanted revenge. The hunt for the killer continues. In real life – and in Second Life. Including very dramatic pixel confrontation in the creepy lair of the serial killer. If you want to have a great time in about 45 minutes, you MUST see this episode.
