With films like Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven, Ridley Scott has long since established himself as a director of bombastic battle blockbusters. Most recently, his latest 158-minute epic Napoleon about the life of the French army opened in our cinemas in November 2023.

Anyone who would rather watch the film at home will have the opportunity to do so very soon. Ahead of its release on the Apple TV+ streaming subscription, Napoleon will star with Joaquin Phoenix in the title role Premium VoD titles published.

When and how can you watch Napoleon at home?

According to an Apple press release, Napoleon from January 9, 2024 released as premium video-on-demand. You can then buy Scott’s new war epic in digital form on Amazon Prime Video, among others.

The blockbuster depicts the life of Napoleon primarily through six major battles from his career. Stations like Austerlitz and Waterloo are just as important to the story as Napoleon’s complicated relationship with Joséphine de Beauharnais (Vanessa Kirby).

In addition to the 158-minute theatrical version, Apple TV+ will also have a around four hour director’s cut appear. There are no details about the release of the versions on the streaming service yet.
