So far, Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Z was only available on Blu-ray in this country in the revised, streamlined and re-voiced new edition called Dragon Ball Z Kai. However, not every fan liked this version. Now the original version in German is finally making it onto the high-resolution discs.
With publication on November 17, 2023, you can watch the first 35 episodes of the series in one Pre-order the Blu-ray box on Amazon *. A new DVD version is also available ready for pre-order *. It is not yet known when the remaining episodes of the series with a total of 291 episodes will appear in further boxes.
That’s what Dragon Ball Z is all about
Like the original Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball Z follows the titular hero Son Goku and his friends in the fight against evil forces. Son Goku is now an adult, married and has a son, but the idyllic family life is repeatedly disrupted by various threats.
Over the course of the series, which spans many years, the Z Fighters have to defend themselves against, among others, Son Goku’s hostile brother Raditz, the Sayajin Prince Vegeta, the world-destroying Freeza, wild androids, the cyborg Cell and the demon Buu. There are merciless battles not only on Earth, but sometimes also in extraterrestrial realms.
Dragon Ball Z is one of the most popular anime series
Dragonball Z was an absolute must for many children and young people in the 90s and is still cult today as one of the most popular and best anime series. The series had numerous highlights and was continued with Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super as well as various spin-off films.
The first Blu-ray edition of the only true Original version Dragon Ball Z should therefore also be a must-watch, especially if you haven’t warmed up to the Kai new edition. There is currently no legal way to stream the series.
