You can save up to 700 euros when you buy

Need to buy a new phone? There’s a little-known trick that could drastically lower the price of your next device.

Unfortunately, you can’t keep a smartphone for life. Manufacturers like Samsung, Google or Apple know this and encourage users to change their smartphone regularly. Changing it can be essential when the physical condition of your device requires it, or when it is no longer updated and therefore subject to viruses and cyber attacks.

However, today’s smartphones can be very expensive. The latest Samsung Galaxy S or high-end iPhones are sold for around 1000 euros or even more for the most advanced models. And this represents a significant cost for a majority of consumers. This is why they are always looking for tips to pay less for their next phone.

Of course, there is the reconditioned solution, but this does not guarantee you a new smartphone. Payment in installments also exists, but it only diverts the initial problem since your new mobile will still cost a lot on the final bill. There is another solution that is still little used.

Few people know this, but manufacturers very regularly offer trade-in offers. These can even be offered by major brands or mobile plan providers. When a new smartphone is released, manufacturers even very often offer what are called “bonus trade-in offers”. This means that the brand will buy your phone at a fixed price (depending on its condition), but add a net amount!

The process is pretty simple: go to a trade-in bonus offer or a site that offers the option. Choose your phone model (to find it, go to your device settings and “about phone”) to access a short questionnaire about its general condition. No need to lie here since everything will be checked afterwards. At the end of the process, the site will give you an estimated trade-in value as well as a shipping note to send your phone. You will then receive payment with the trade-in bonus within a few hours.

Here are some operators who offer the recovery of old devices:

This kind of process is already very successful at Samsung, which is used to offering a bonus of 100 euros when you return an old smartphone to buy a new one that has just been announced. Be careful though, because these offers are generally limited in time and only last for a few weeks surrounding the release of the new model!
