A new building game on Steam makes you the ruler of your own kingdom. As such, you’ll have to make decisions that will test your moral compass – all for under €22.
Which game are you talking about? Thrive: Heavy Lies the Crown is a building game that transports you to a medieval fantasy world. There you build a kingdom according to your ideas. Your decisions should have consequences.
Thrive: Heavy Lies the Crown entered Early Access on Steam on November 6, 2024. Until November 13th you can get the game 20% cheaper, i.e. for just €21.59 instead of the usual €26.99.

Mix of genres in a magical medieval world
What is the game about? Your people have left for the land of Nysamor to find a new home. As ruler, it is your job to bring the kingdom to new glory – whether with sweet words or with the sword.
Thrive: Heavy Lies the Crown playfully combines elements of a city-building simulation with RTS battles and a world map inspired by 4X games. At the beginning you collect the necessary resources to build and supply your first city.
If your city is big enough, you raise your first armies. You will need this not only to avoid being conquered by your neighbors, but also to expand your own empire. Alternatively, you can also take the diplomatic route.
As in Frostpunk, in Thrive you will always be faced with decisions. They should have a lasting impact on your rule. Whether you are a good-natured ruler or a tyrant – both have their advantages and disadvantages and will help you progress in the game.
Is there a free demo for the game? Unfortunately not. If you want to try Thrive: Heavy Lies the Crown, you have to buy the game. However, you can use the return option on Steam if you don’t like the game within the first two hours.
