In February 2023, Wild Hearts, an action role-playing game from Electronic Arts, was released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. This was apparently intended to build on the success of Monster Hunter World here in the West. But Wild Hearts put a belly flop on the release. Just a few weeks later, EA is now launching a free trial for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.

What is Wild Hearts game?

  • Wild Hearts is an action role-playing game from Omega Force, the developers of Dynasty Warriors. In the game you hunt huge monsters in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan.
  • At the time of release, the game received reviews in the range of 80%, i.e. good test ratings, but there were some technical problems.
  • Here in the west, the game was almost completely lost upon release – there was little attention in the media and on Twitch. Many may have been put off by the high price of €80 on PS5, Xbox Series / €70 on Steam.

    This is the action now: There is currently a “Free Trial Period” for Wild Hearts:

  • You need an EA account for this
  • The testing phase is intended to last for the first 10 hours of the game, roughly extending to Minato, the game’s first village
  • The test phase lasts until April 13th
  • Those who want to buy it then receive a 20% discount for PC and Xbox

    • Is it worth playing? At the time of release, Wild Hearts had some supporters who said the game was quite fun. Since the release, some improvements and updates have also been added.

    The general reaction of many to Wild Hearts upon release from fans of the genre was: I’ll get it when it’s on sale later. The purchase price was considered too high.

    The trial can now be the chance to get a taste of it, at least for the first 10 hours.
