Epassi states that it is done when they strengthen their control of the suppliers and this is part of improving the control processes. The temporary inactivation is done during the time an investigation is done “to identify further necessary measures”.
This is done after a review by P4 Kronoberg who showed that several Thai massage salons that are linked to sex trafficking are linked to Epassi. At least 100 municipalities use the portal to handle employees’ health care allowance.
“That Epassi’s service is being used to cheat with the health care allowance, and that there is even sex purchases, is completely unacceptable – we are determined to be part of the solution and be driven to rectify the problem,” says Epassis CEO Åsa Severgårdh in the press release.
