You can get the most important materials in Diablo 4 more easily in Season 4, saving a lot of inventory space

In Diablo 4, certain materials are essential for various features. From Season 4 onwards, you no longer have to collect certain items for the most important material, thereby saving inventory space.

At the beginning of April there was a PTR (Public Test Realm) in Diablo 4 for the first time. The new features were well received by the players. However, there was also criticism and requests for changes for Season 4. One expert complained that players still have to collect items even though they don’t want to use them. However, you need the materials that you get from dismantling.

The developers explained in the last livestream on May 2nd that this would change with Season 4. The items will still drop, but you no longer have to collect them if you don’t need them.

Season 4 starts on May 14th. In the video you get an insight into the changes in Diablo 4:

“Yellow items only as a bonus”

What is this important material? We’re talking about the “Cloudy Crystal” material, which you have previously obtained by dismantling rare (yellow) weapons and armor. You need the cloudy crystal to have your weapons enchanted by the occultist.

Enchanting gives you the opportunity to re-roll the aspects on items so that the item better fits your build. The crystal is therefore an important material in Diablo 4 that every player needs in the course of the game.

In order to have items enchanted by the occultist, you need plenty of “cloudy crystals”.

That’s why it will soon be easier for you: From Season 4 onwards, you will also receive the Cloudy Crystal when you dismantle legendary items at the blacksmith. Legendary items also give you the materials “Winning Ward”, “Abstruse Seal” and “Ominous Fragment”.

In the livestream on May 2nd, Lead Live Game Designer Colin Finer explained that the team had received a lot of feedback about the Murky Crystals. Players commented that they have to “pick up a bunch of yellow items to use some cool crafting system.”

The developer says:

So, we’ve made legendary items drop the same amount of Murky Crystals, so you can now easily collect the yellow items as a bonus. We also made sure that sacred and bequeathed items [mehr] Drop Mats. So holy items drop double the amount, bequeathed triple the amount, so we’re basically tripling the amount of mats.

This means you can safely leave “yellow” items lying around if you don’t want to equip them. This way you save inventory space and still don’t have to go without important materials. Because you will get many of them from a “source” from Season 4 onwards.

Season 4 starts on May 14th and brings numerous innovations to Diablo 4. Basically, it turns the entire game inside out, and many changes even remain permanent. MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus was able to speak in advance with lead seasons designer Deric Nuñez and lead game producer Timothy Ismay.

In the interview, the developers explain how the changes affect the game and what they mean directly for the players. There are also some interesting insights into development: Diablo 4 promises content for everyone in Season 4 – developers explain to us how the game is fundamentally changing
