The survival horror game Sons of the Forest was so popular when it was released that it even brought down the Steam servers when Early Access started. Now you have the chance to get the finished game for half the price.
What kind of game is this about? In Sons of the Forest awaits you survival horror from indie developer Endnight Games, the makers of The Forest. On an island populated by cannibals and mutants, you fight for survival while searching for a missing person.
Sons of the Forest went into early access on February 23, 2023 and was able to generate a lot of hype beforehand. The rush for the game was so great that even the Steam servers collapsed upon release. The full release followed a year later.

A missing billionaire and fearsome cannibals
What is the game about? Like in The Forest, you crash on a remote island. This time, however, you are not an ordinary family man, but a member of a special operations team. Your task: Track down a missing billionaire.
The island on which your target is located is populated by fearsome cannibals and disgusting mutants. They are divided into factions that differ in behavior. At first most of them will just stare at you creepily, but later they will attack you.
To protect yourself from the dangers of the island, you craft or find different weapons, including bows, spears or a katana. But the best protection is a good defense: you feel much safer behind a protective wall and traps.
Sons of the Forest relies heavily on “environmental storytelling”: you puzzle together the story based on the things you find in the environment. Whether and when you follow the story is up to you thanks to the open game world.

Does the game offer co-op? Yes, if you want, you can play through Sons of the Forest with up to 8 players. But even as a solo player you are not completely alone, because with Kelvin you have an NPC companion at your disposal right from the start who can carry out tasks for you such as collecting wood or stones.
Later you can befriend a shy mutant lady who will also help you in fights.
How much does the game cost? Sons of the Forest costs €28.99 as standard. As part of the winter sale on Steam there is a 50% discount – so you only pay €14.49. According to most players, it’s worth it: Overall, the game has 87% positive reviews, and the recent ones are even better.
