In World of Warcraft you can just dust off a really fancy skin for your dragon – without much effort. All you have to do is knock out a “small” boss.
For many players, stylish mounts in World of Warcraft are the best way to present yourself in the game. But especially in Dragonflight this has been restricted a bit, since you are mostly on a flying kite. Although these can be extensively customized, you can only really stand out with a very special skin:
You can make your dragon look like Raszageth. Best of all, you can get this unlock very easily in LFR, the easiest raid mode!
What is that skin? Embodiment of the Stormeater is a variant for your renewed Proto-Drake – that’s the one you get early on in the Awakening Coast (the red one). Unlike other customizations you unlock, the Incarnation of the Stormeater is a complete overhaul of your dragon. So you can’t choose additional decorations, but get a “complete package” directly. Visually, your dragon will then match the appearance of Raszageth himself – including the cool, pulsating lightning effects.
You can see how the fight against Raszageth ends here:
Where is the skin? You can obtain the item “Renewed Proto-Drake: Embodiment of the Stormeater” from Raszageth. This is the final boss of the Vault of Incarnations raid and since last Wednesday it can also be tackled in LFR mode. So you don’t need a fixed raid group, you can simply take part in the raid using the automatic group search.
However, it is advisable to bring a little patience with you. Because Raszageth also has the majority of its mechanics in the LFR and many of them ensure the immediate death of the character. You should at least take a look at the dungeon journal or preferably a short video guide if you don’t want to hang on to this boss for long.
What is the drop chance? Exact information on the drop chance for the skin is not yet available. However, most groups report that the skin only drops for one character in the raid group – if at all. So it may take a few weeks before you get the skin.
If you don’t have luck the first time, just try again next week. However, you can also try it on several characters if you have more warriors at level 70. Incidentally, once activated, the skin is valid for your entire account – all your characters can then glide through the air on Raszageth.
However, “Renewed Proto-Drake: Embodiment of the Stormeater” counts as personal loot. So you don’t have to fight the raid for the skin and instead get it directly from the reward chest after defeating Raszageth.
What’s so special about it? In the past of World of Warcraft, raid bosses could only leave behind a very special mount from heroic or even mythical difficulty. So there were always exclusive mounts that could only be used by the best players – or those with the biggest bag of gold – for a while.
Whether Blizzard made this change to make “Sell Runs” less attractive for mounts is not entirely certain. However, it is clear that the corresponding boosting groups will probably have lost some of their customers if the chic Raszageth design is also left in the LFR.
