Alongside Doom, Wolfenstein is one of the milestones in shooter history. The new games also offer action-packed shooter fare, and you can currently buy the 4 newest titles in the franchise on PS4 and PS5 for just €14.
What kind of games are these? The Wolfenstein series started in 1981, with Castle Wolfenstein for the Apple II, the Commodore 64 and other platforms. Eleven years later, in 1992, the first shooter in the series was released, before the first Doom. A modern reboot of the series followed in 2014 with Wolfenstein: The New Order. Four parts of the new edition series were finally published by 2019.
Essentially, the 4 modern Wolfenstein games are classic first-person shooters in which you fight against the Nazi regime in an alternate timeline. The main character of most games is BJ Blazkowicz. He is an American spy who forms a true one-man army in the style of old action films.

Great single player shooter with good characters
What makes the series so good? The new Wolfenstein games try to bring the old gameplay of so-called boomer shooters into the modern age. A big aspect of this is that you don’t heal yourself automatically. You have to collect armor and healing items.
The games are best when you face your opponents head-on like Rambo. You are a playable action hero from the 80s. You have to use the many weapons tactically in battle so that you can deal with the various opponents.
Unlike its predecessors, the new games also have a greater focus on the various characters, which are not just exaggerated, but also offer emotional moments.
The entire modern series is available in the alternative world collection, which contains the following games:
The first 3 games are classic single player games with a linear story. As the story progresses you can collect hidden collectibles. Youngblood, on the other hand, is a co-op adventure that can be played with two people. Here you control Blazkowicz’s daughters. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is considered the best part of the series (via Metacritic).
How much does the Wolfenstein: Alternate World Collection cost? In the PSN store you can currently get the games for PS4 or PS5 in the alternative world collection for €14 instead of €70. You have the basic versions of the 4 games with you. The DLCs for the 2nd part are not included. The offer is valid until November 2nd, 2024.
You can currently get the season pass with all DLCs for €10. If you only want individual games in the series, then all but Youngblood are also on offer for a maximum of €6.
