The first episode of Beijing Express was broadcast on M6 this Thursday, February 16, 2023. Viewers were able to discover the eight pairs of candidates for this season 17. Among them are Alexandre and Chirine, longtime friends who have been in a relationship for a few months , dubbed the “Strategist Lovers” by the show. Nevertheless, the adventure began under bad auspices for the duo. While they must zipline over Lake Titikaka in order to qualify for the immunity test.
Unfortunately, Alexandre suffers from vertigo and refuses to take up the challenge. First trying to motivate him, Chirine ends up in tears when she realizes that her lover refuses to overcome his fear to continue the adventure: “You don’t want to fight”, she reproaches him. “You get me drunk, I always get screwed over. It’s not just phobias that are holding you back in life.” Alexandre from Beijing Express then concedes to being “a fearful person” in life. But that doesn’t push him to put up with his phobia. “I would have done it for you,” Chirine told him, “annoyed” and “disappointed”, between sobs. Nothing to do, the two lovers see all the other duos overtake them and finally do not participate in this first immunity test. However, they end up reconciling.
