This Sunday the streets of Barcelona were filled with runnersonce again, to participate in the 44th edition of the Zurich Barcelona Marathon. And it is that the arrival of good weather and the marathon spirit encouraged more than 15,000 runners to be part of a test that had a new partner, iPROa brand of high-protein yogurts, smoothies and desserts.

Kimutai and Yimer are exhibited in Barcelona

victory went to Marius Kimutai who crossed the finish line with a time of 02:05:06. On the other hand, in the female category the victory was carried out by Zeineba Yimer which stopped the timer at 02:19:44. Both achieved the circuit record in their category. The first Spaniard in the classification was Carlos Montllorwho finished the race in 26th position, while eva ledesma was the best in our country in the female category.

The Plaza de España, the Camp Nou, the Arc de Triomf or the Sagrada Familia are some of the emblematic places that have witnessed the passage of thousands of runners who decided yesterday to have a fun time, but with the demand that requires having to run the more than 42 km that complete this Zurich Marathon of Barcelona.

YoPRO supports athletes physically, nutritionally and emotionally

That is why not everyone can complete the entire route, for this a great preparation is needed. To help achieve this and ensure muscle recovery, YoPRO distributed high-protein products to participants at the Sports Expo and at the finish linelocated in the Plaza de España.

In addition, this competition also requires mental strength and emotional support. For this the brand has offered family, friends and fans of athletes the ability to create custom cheer banners and thus flood the finish line of the Zurich Marató de Barcelona with messages that will be difficult to forget for anyone who reaches more than 42 km.

Álex Roca makes history in the test

If completing the test is already a challenge, doing it with 76% physical disability categorizes as heroics. However, for Alex Roca there is no challenge that resists him and he has become the first person to achieve it in a marathon. She has done it hand in hand with YoPRO, more specifically, with the support of Valentí Sanjuánstreamer and brand ambassador, who has accompanied him with the aim of inspiring the entire community of athletes.

Álex Roca is one more athlete who shows that, with a good physical and nutritional preparation, commitment and daily work, any challenge can be achieved without ceasing to enjoy the journey, because the important thing is not to cross the finish line but everything that has been lived until you get to her.

“YoPRO wants to empower all athletes to achieve the goals they set for themselves no matter how impossible it may seem”highlights Valentí Sanjuán, who has also been one of the thousands of runners that turned Barcelona into the world capital of sport this Sunday.
