OFFREDO. Former professional runner, Yoann Offredo has a new season as a consultant on France Télévisions.
Former cyclist described as “hyper sensitive”, Yoann Offredo is now a motorcycle consultant on the Tour de France for France Télévisions and seems to be just as much as he explained to our colleagues from The Team in an interview. “I’m super anxious. I’ve always had TOCs in my life, things to reassure me. For example, I put my stabilizers in the same direction and by color. I fold my things three times at night, my suitcase is always tidy… I always have my laces inside my shoes. It ruins my life a little. When I talk about anxiety, it’s because I put myself in incredible states. Before each departure , before the live, I feel like throwing up, I can’t eat, I have tears in my eyes. It may seem stupid, but I feel like I’m playing my life every time. It was like that runner, and today as a consultant.”
Also asked about the comparison with Thomas Voeckler, the former FDJ rider does not want it. “I spent a few nights watching the stages of the Tour de France, thinking I was inspired by what the consultants were saying about the bike, then I stopped everything. I’m not Thomas, I don’t have his popularity , his banter… So I’m not trying to play a character, I’m just trying to be me.”

Known for his outspokenness on the bike, he is just as much on the set and now on the motorcycle of France Télévisions. “Consultant, I don’t really like this term. I will have to think about another one… It’s more of a sensitive eye, not a sporting one. I want to share my vision and my passion for cycling, to humanize this sport by explaining things because I’m still a racer (he insists) and I can make my mark. Sometimes we look at cycling but we don’t always understand the ins and outs of team strategies or racing events . I want to analyze things in a calm and rigorous way” he explained at the time.
