Last Sunday, Mayor Niek Meijer van Huizen closed two homes at Roef 3 and Roef 6 in his municipality as a precaution. He then said: “I have been assured that keeping the homes open could pose a danger to residents and local residents. That is enough for me to proceed with provisional closure.” Just under a week later, around 2 a.m., the windows still flew out of their frames after an explosion at the house at Roef 3. No one was injured, but local residents had to leave their homes.
