The Scream franchise plunged into a deep crisis last year when part 7 with Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega not only lost its two leading actressesbut also its director, Christopher Landon. In spring 2024, the all-clear came for horror fans: original star Neve Campbell will return for Scream 7 and has a new director in Kevin Williamson.
Now the film is taking more and more shape, as a Yellowstone Star is intended to expand the story with a new main character.
Yellowstone star Isabel May is in front of the camera for Scream 7 with Neve Campbell
As Deadline reports, Isabel May has been cast for the role Daughter of Campbell’s character Sidney Prescott obligated. Ghostface is said to haunt the mother-daughter duo in the new part instead of the Carpenter sisters portrayed by Barrera and Ortega in Scream 5 and 6.
Isabel May is particularly celebrated through the Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923 by series creator Taylor Sheridan, in which she embodies one of John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) ancestors, Elsa Dutton. May also appeared in the Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air after her breakthrough in the 2018 sitcom Alexa & Katie.
Scream 7 will be released in cinemas in 2026 after a major crisis
Following the departure of Christopher Landon, Kevin Williamson, who wrote the screenplays for Scream 1, 2 and 4, will direct the horror sequel. The script for Part 7 was written by Guy Busick, who was already involved in the scripts for Parts 5 and 6.
The film is due on February 27, 2026 reach US cinemas. A cinema release is expected soon in this country.
