The trailer for the Yellowstone finale promises a dramatic conclusion: Yellowstone ends with the final farewell to Kevin Costner’s character John Dutton. Now that the end of the series is at hand, neither fans who are upset with series creator and super cowboy Taylor Sheridan nor the stars involved are mincing words anymore. Luke Grimes, who played the Dutton patriarch’s youngest son for five seasons, told Cinemablend:
Hopefully everyone can see: It was time. To be completely honest, Kevin meant [Costners] Partially omitting that too some of the conflict disappeared. Of course it wasn’t much fun [Streit] to attend. I don’t want to point fingers at anyone, but that was actually it easiest season we’ve ever filmed.
In the past, other Yellowstone stars such as Beth actress Kelly Reilly had suggested that Kevin Costner’s absence was a problem for the series “new energy” have lent.
