Yellow warning for sudden ice slippage

From Tuesday evening and the night to Wednesday, rain moves in from the west and then reaches the southern Norrland coast and the eastern part of Svealand.

The rain can fall on cold road surfaces, which means that sudden icy conditions can occur. SMHI is therefore issuing a yellow warning in a large part of Svealand and more south-eastern Norrland.

Risk of traffic accidents and canceled departures

The weather institute writes on its website that the traffic is slower.

They also flag for limited accessibility on roads due to traffic accidents and the risk of delays in bus and air traffic and canceled departures.

SMHI: Then the warning applies

SMHI’s warning applies from Tuesday evening until 09:00 on Wednesday.

During the morning and forenoon on Wednesday, the rain in Dalarna and southern Norrland turns into snowfall. The temperature on the road surfaces should then also rise on the plus side further south.
