Yellow warning – ferry services are suspended

Now poses Destination Gotland cancel all ferry traffic on Monday due to severe weather – except for the first departure at 07:15 in the morning from Visby to Nynäshamn.

It is also warned of limited accessibility on roads and also the risk of delays in bus, train and air traffic as well as canceled departures.

In the Baltic Sea area around Gotland, yellow warnings for gales and icing are also issued on Monday. Due to the severe weather, Destination Gotland has canceled all of Monday’s ferry departures between the island and the mainland except for one – the morning departure, the company announces on its website.

15 centimeters of snow

SMHI has also issued yellow warnings for snowfall in several other parts of southern and central Sweden, which may disrupt traffic.

At most, up to 15 centimeters of snow can fall locally, and the snow can cause problems in traffic, SMHI warns.

– If you are going out and driving, you should think twice about whether you really need to go out right now or if you can wait, so that the roads have time to be cleared and prepared, says Therese Fougman, meteorologist at SMHI.
